We live in a world where we are not always engaged in the things that we love. Too often, people go day by day simply to live the life they want, slipping into autopilot without stopping to ask a fundamental question: "What part of your day involves the part of life you have?"
Building a routine is about realizing that while we can't always have everything we want, we can reclaim our agency. Your routine doesn't need to be adopted by anyone else, nor does it need to be as thorough as mine. My routine is structured this way because I feel I should be working just as hard on my mind as I do on my body, given that my entire career depends on it. Core Principles of Intentional Routine Design
Build on What Already Exists: The foundation of a successful routine is to leverage what is already part of your day-to-day life.
Radicalized Self-Care: Rooted in the idea of radicalized self-care, simple practices should be quick and easy to do. It shouldn't be something you have to force over and over again, but rather something that comes naturally.
Algorithmic & Environmental Curation: Make your routines about removing the old and replacing it with something new—focusing on what you want to see, not just what is currently there.
For Artists: If you want to do more art, see more art by changing your feeds.
For Community: If you want to be part of your community, shift your algorithms to focus on things that are local rather than far away, making connection reachable.
